The Anglican Diocese of Adelaide has an active Clergy Spouse Committee, which exists to
- create opportunities to build relationships amongst clergy spouses,
- offer encouragement in our faith and
- offer prayerful and practical support to each other.
We aim to do this by organising a variety of activities planned throughout the year.
Annual events include an Annual Spouse and Clergy Dinner, Day Conference, a Clergy Family Picnic, and a variety of social/fellowship events. In addition, we produce a monthly prayer newsletter to support the Diocese and individual Parishes in prayer. The latter is freely available to all who request.
Emails are circulated at intervals during the year to promote and offer a welcoming invitation to all clergy spouse events. If you are not on the mailing list, please let us know.
Clergy spouses are wonderfully different from each other both in terms of our ministries and how we view this role and our involvement in the workforce and stage of life. This lack of uniformity allows space for individual expression on working out what it means to live a life of faithful obedience to our saviour.
As we work out what this means for each of us, I like a passage from Romans chapter 12 verse 11 where we are reminded to “Never be lacking zeal, but keep your spiritual fervour, serving the Lord.”
