The Archbishop of Adelaide, Geoff Smith, Primate of the Anglican Church of Australia, issued a statement on the death of Prince Philip. It can be downloaded here
“I was saddened to hear of the death of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh and join with people in the United Kingdom and Commonwealth in mourning his loss. I thank God for his life of service.
“On behalf of the Anglican Church of Australia, I extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to Her Majesty and the royal family.
“Throughout Prince Philip’s life he supported Her Majesty the Queen with a steadfast loyalty while maintaining a candour and individualism that made him an authentic figure across the Commonwealth, including Australia which he visited more than any other royal.
“I pray that his life of service will be an inspiration to people today and into the future and that the Queen and the rest of the royal family will know the presence and comfort of God at this difficult time.”
